Registration is now closed.

NOTE: Registration is open to NMT students.

Registering for the SRS is easy! Just fill out this SRS 2025 Registration & Abstract Submission Form (yep, there's only one form!) and select all of the categories you'd like to participate in. Only one registration is needed for any and all categories (just be sure to select all).

NOTE: Some categories require that you submit an abstract. You must include them in the form when registering for the SRS.

SRS Categories:

3-Minute Speech Competition (NO abstract required)

Oral Presentation (Abstract required)

Poster Presentation (Abstract required)

We provide workshops for all the SRS categories! Registration is required for all events. Check SRS Workshops for more information and how to register.

NOTE ON THE USE OF PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES: As per the 2024-2025 NMT Catalog, "Registration as a student and attendance at or participation in classes and other campus and New Mexico Tech activities constitutes an agreement by the student to the New Mexico Tech's use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the student's image or voice in photographs, video or audio capture, or electronic reproductions of such classes and other campus and New Mexico Tech activities."

If you do not wish to appear on any photos, just ask for the "No Photos Please" sticker when checking in at the SRS events.

Attend & Participate

Attendees are crucial to the success of the SRS. They provide feedback, volunteer their time, and interact with participants so they can get the valuable experience of discussing their research. There are a number of ways attendees can contribute. Check out the information below for more details.

About

Our Mission: Communicate to Educate

Communicate to Educate means to effectively communicate your project or research to educate those you are presenting to. This is the primary focus of the Student Research Symposium.

The SRS is an annual event where students present their research to the communities of NMT and Socorro, as well as the larger STEM community. Students at all levels, from freshman to graduates, have the opportunity to participate in research and the SRS provides a forum to share the exciting projects they've been working on.

During the event, students are able to:

Showcase their knowledge and skills by giving a presentation or displaying a poster to peers, professional researchers, and engineers.
Communicate their research or design to people outside of their field.
See what their peers are doing and get ideas for future research projects.
