This event is ideally suited for one presenter, although a team may register. Each competitor has three minutes to present, with one static slide. You will present your research topic, explain how the research is (or will be) conducted, and identify what impact it will have on the general or academic community.
Unlike the other two events (Posters and Oral Presentations), you do not need to submit an abstract for this competition.
To help prepare you for the competition, we offer workshops to assist you. In order for you to participate in the competition, you must attend the 3-Minute Speech Workshop and the 3-Minute Speech Rehearsal. Registration is required for all events.

How will I know if I'm selected?
All applicants will be notified through email of their selection.
How will I be evaluated?
Interested in knowing what and how you will be evaluated? Here's the 3-Minute Speech Competition Evaluation Rules & Criteria.
Evaluation for the competition is done by two types of people: Judges and Reviewers.
The panel of judges will be front and center during your presentation. Using the criteria provided above, they will evaluate your presentation and provide feedback. The panel is generally made up of faculty and staff from NMT. The panel is pre-selected by the SRS Staff.
Reviewers can be anyone, and they provide anonymous, general feedback that occurs immediately after your presentation. Using tally sheets, reviewers will answer a series of questions regarding your presentation. Anyone wishing to participate as a Reviewer will be given a tally sheet at the door.
Judges will deliberate after all speeches are complete to award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places (for a total of three awards). Detailed evaluations will be emailed to you after the SRS is over (please allow time for processing).
When do I need to give you my slide, and how do I get it to you?
