Current NMT Students (Undegraduate & Graduate)
Even if you're not participating in this year's SRS, you should still consider attending one or all of the events. Your friends, peers, and colleagues will appreciate your support and you may even learn a thing or two!
Depending on the class, your professor may offer extra credit if you attend (be sure to register!).
If you're a graduate student, please consider making a contribution to SRS by evaluating the presenters at the end of each session (more information below).
Volunteers are integral to the success of an event such as SRS. Supporting students in their educational endeavors and research is an amazing feeling. The help we provide in making things seamless from event to event, the feedback we give through reviews and discussions with the students, and the help we lend in just helping attendees find the right places to visit is very satisfying. Volunteers help not only by making this event possible—they help to make it great!
Volunteers can be students (undegraduate & graduate), faculty, staff, or community members from a variety of backgrounds, and with varying expertise. Anyone is welcome to attend and/or volunteer!
We can use volunteers for a variety of duties:
- Assisting the Event Coordinators
- Putting Together Information Packets
- Giving Directions and Guidance to Attendees
- Counting Attendees and Greeting Attendees
- Acting as a Reviewer or EVALUATOR
- And even some things we are still thinking about!

FAQS
Can I volunteer only for one session, or do I have to volunteer the whole day?
If you are able to volunteer for more than one session, that's great! If not, that's OK too. All we ask is that if you commit to one (or more) session(s) and honor your commitment.
I'm presenting at the SRS, can I volunteer to help out for other times/events?
YES! We would love to have you join us. You'll see other presenters and information that you might miss otherwise.

We need YOU to become an evaluator for Oral Presentations and Poster Sessions!
Evaluators are integral to the Student Research Symposium. They help students to understand their research and present it better through formulated feedback and in-person review.
Evaluators are volunteers made up of NMT faculty, staff, graduate students, alumni, and community members. The only requirement is that you have a Bachelor's degree in any area of study.
We need evaluators for the following events:
Oral Presentations: Tue, April 16, 5pm-8pm
Poster Session 1: Wed, April 17, 10am-12pm
Poster Session 2: Thu, April 18, 10am-12pm
Poster Session 3: Fri, April 19, 10am-12pm
Poster Session 4: Fri, April 19, 1pm-3pm
You may be an evaluator for any or all events. When you register online to participate as an Evaluator, you'll be asked to select which events you'd like to participate in.
Want to know what kind of forms you'll be expected to fill out as an evaluator? Here are the forms that we use (you will be filling out similar forms electronically):

NOTE: Since the feedback results will be emailed to the presenters after the SRS ends, we kindly ask that you include all your comments on the form instead of orally.
