Microsoft Software Offerings
General Info:
New Mexico Tech's campus license for Microsoft software includes the following products:
- Microsoft Office (2010, 2013, 2016 for Windows & 2011 for Mac)
- Word
- Excel
- Powerpoint
- OneNote
- Publisher
- Access
- Microsoft Windows (upgrade license only, you need to have an existing windows license)
- Windows 7 Enterprise
- Windows 8 Enterprise
- Windows 10 Enterprise
- Older versions may be available upon request
Restrictions:
All software is for Faculty, Staff, and Student use on Tech-owned machines only. Software cannot be installed on personal or home computers at any time for any purpose.
By downloading or copying the software, you are agreeing not to rent, sell, lease, assign or otherwise transfer the Software; reverse engineer, compile, make alterations to or otherwise modify the Software; or disclose or otherwise make available the Software, User Manuals, or copies thereof, to any third party.

For non-AdminNet Faculty and Staff, downloads are available on campus with your old (pre-Gmail) @nmt.edu login through ITC at the following location: Windows Software Downloads. If you never had such an account, please contact ITC for futher information: 575-835-5700 or [email protected].
By downloading you are agreeing to comply with the restrictions of use detailed above.
All downloads are ISO files, which requires either burning to a DVD or having proper
software to mount the ISO image. Installation media is also available from the ITC
Help Desk for a small fee.
How to license:
Install the software downloaded above, and when prompted enter the appropriate key from the list below.

Activation should take place automatically, Windows and Office will look up the DNS records for this service set by ITC. However, this will only occur on approved networks, including but not limited to wired office and lab connections to the campus network. Should activation not occur automatically you may need to manually specify the KMS host by following these directions:
Microsoft Windows
- Open a command prompt as administrator and type the following commands:
- slmgr /skms keymaster.nmt.edu
- slmgr /ato
Microsoft Office 2010
- Open a command prompt as administrator and type the following commands:
- cscript "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\OSPP.VBS" /sethst:keymaster.nmt.edu
- cscript "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\OSPP.VBS" /act
Microsoft Office 2013
- Open a command prompt as administrator and type the following commands:
- cscript "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\OSPP.VBS" /sethst:keymaster.nmt.edu
- cscript "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\OSPP.VBS" /act
Macintosh:
Office for Mac is licensed differently than for Windows. It is still covered under the campus agreement but must be installed by ITC personnel for a flat $25 install fee.
